HOMESTYLE DELICIOUS CHANA DAL RECEPI

Well, Indian Cuisine is by far my favourite cuisine. I grew up eating authentic Indian dishes and now cooking the same. Starting with the very basic yet one of the tastiest, presenting before you all my all time favourite- CHANA DAL RECEPI.


You can binge on to it with rotis, puris and rice and save your day.

Let us begin folks……



INGRIDIENTS REQUIRED:


1. Chana dal( split chickpeas)

2. Tomatoes

3. 2 Bay leaves

4. Mustard seeds

5. Ginger garlic paste

6. Chilli powder

7. Coriander powder

8. Cumin powder

9. Garam masala

10. Turmeric

11. Salt

12. Sugar

13. Onions

14. Mustard oil

15. Kasuri Methi


METHOD:



Step 1: Soak the lentils for 2 hours and then pressure cook them with 2 whistles with some turmeric and salt. Make sure that you do not over boil the lentils. The lentils should maintain their texture and form.


Step 2: Heat 2-3 teaspoon mustard oil and 1 teaspoon butter in a pan and add in the onions, ginger garlic paste and sauté them until they caramelize properly. Add half a teaspoon sugar and followed by the chopped tomatoes and stir everything well until they combine properly. Now add in all the powdered masalas along with the bay leaves and stir everything on a high flame until the entire mixture starts releasing the oil. After the masala mixture releases the oil, add in the boiled lentils and add in salt as required. Add a little bit of water as per the consistency that you need for your dal.

Lastly add some kasuri methi ( dried fenugreek leaves) for the last minute magic flavor and serve hot.


My personal choice is rice with this awesome dal.
